Creation Care, Herman Miller and Comprenew all teamed up to offer e-waste collection in downtown Zeeland this past Saturday. The response was overwhelming. They filled two semi trailers to the point of overflowing. This proves a thought I had in my last article - that we are all trying to do the right thing and don't need much encouragement to do so.
It also proves that those in any community do hang on to things until they can dispose of them properly. When given a choice, most people will do the right thing. This seems to go against most mainstream media and environmentalists that think we need legislation to force people to do the right thing. This is clearly not case. Provide us with the right communication and means to dispose and we will do the right thing on our own.
Thank you all for being a part of this collection. For those outside Michigan, think about this - maybe you can do this, too, and I'll bet you lunch you'll get the same results.
